Threadleaf Blue Star, Amsonia hubrichtii

This low maintenance plant is an uncommon herbaceous perennial that is native to the Ouachita Mountains in central Arkansas. Not a North Carolina native, buti It is easily grown in average, medium, or well-drained soil in full sun to part shade.

Blue Star is a slow grower, taking 1 to 2 years before this plant's true beauty can be seen. But it is well worth the wait. It forms erect clumps with feathery green foliage, making it an excellent backdrop for low growing annuals and perennials.

The plant will mature at 2 to 3 feet wide and tall.

After flowering, slender, elongated seed pods form.
